DescriptionWhite silk crêpe gift cover (fuskusa) on which is printed and embroidered with blue, red, green, violet, brown and gold, a design of fans, cherry blossoms and wistaria. Lined with a brocade of violet, gold and red blocks on which is a circular medallion of clouds, dragons and fruit, woven with green, white, red violet and gold. Bound with a narrow brown and white braid.

NOTES:
[1] Much of Bigelow's collection of Asian art was formed during his residence in Japan between 1882 and 1889, although he also made acquisitions in Europe and the United States. Bigelow deposited many of these objects at the MFA in 1890 before donating them to the Museum's collection at later dates.
