This globular jar, of black-topped redware, has a rounded base and very subtle shoulders. The upper portion is broken off and missing, though it appears to have narrowed to a straight or nearly straight neck. The exterior was treated with a red wash which may have been somewhat polished.
From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 3901. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
