This globular jar is made of a buff-colored clay (marl?). The lower portions show heavy discoloration, possibly from fire. The exterior surface is cracked and flaking.
From Kerma, Cemetery S, grave 1004. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
