Obverse: Profile bust of Guido Pepoli looking to proper right, wearing plain dress and small cap; inscribed at edge “GVIDO PEVLVS BONON IENSIS COMES” [words separated by leaves].

Reverse: The philosopher Xerxes and King Evilmerodach seated on rocks playing chess; inscribed at edge “SIC·DOCVI·REGNARE·TYRANNVM·” and below “·OPVS·SPERANDEI·”.
