Circular medal of Gustavas Adolphus (1594-1632), king of Sweden.

Obverse: Bust of Gustavas looking three-quarters to proper left surrounded by a cartouche of scrolls, fruit and cherub’s head above; inscribed at edge “D9.GUST:ADOLPHaD.G.SUEC:GOT:VAD:R·M:PRIC:FILAD:DUX ETHO: ET CARELIAE·IGRIAE” and below “1631 SD”.

Reverse: Gustavas in armor as an avenging angel trampling on his enemies, holding a shield in his left hand and a sword in his right with two suns and lightning bolts in background; inscribed at edge in two bands “PARCERE CHRISTICOLIS,ME DEBELLARE FEROCES MILES EGO CHRIST CHRO DUCE,STERNO TYRANNOS [rosette]/PAPICOLAS,CHRIST9 DUX ME9,EN ANIMAT. HAERETICOS SIMIL ET CALCO MEIS PEDIBUS”.
