Coarse, natural-colored linen thread. Discovered in 1888 by W.M.F. Petrie in the Greco-Egyptian cemetery of Hawara in the Fayûm. . “The interments in this cemetery were from 400 B.C- 150 A.D. These coils of thread were found to have been used in packing the mummies of the Hawara cemetery; I believe no where else.” Amelia B. Edwards.
