DescriptionPrinted by C. Hullmandel, London; published by Boys. Hand-colored prints were common in the early nineteenth century but printing in several colors, an expensive procedure requiring skilled labor, was still relatively uncommon. Boys' city views, based on the English watercolor style, are regarded as the first artistically successful color lithographs.
