DescriptionRectangular medal commemorating the inauguration of the Lower Congo and Katanga railroad. Stamped on edge "J.FONSON".

Obverse: Man standing at proper right, wearing loose piece of cloth pointing with his left hand to etch map of railroad path and with his right hand holding the left hand of a nude woman seated at the proper left who also points to the railroad path with her right hand; inscribed in French along railroad path, at upper proper left corner, and at proper right.

Reverse: An African male standing at proper right works ground with long staff while a British man sits on rocks at proper left, holding a rock in his right hand and gesturing to the ground with left hand, marked at proper right; inscribed in French above and at proper left.
Marks Reverse: "M" and "A" overlapping in a circle.
InscriptionsObverse: Inscribed along railroad path "Port-Franqui/Bukaina/[ ]ambov/Elisabethville" and at upper proper right corner "INAUGURATION DU CHEMIN DE FER/BAS CONGO-KATANGO/PAR L.L.M.M./LE ROI/ET LA REINE/12 JUILLET/1928" and at proper right "Eug.J.de Bremaecker".

Reverse: Inscribed above "Travail et progress…" and at proper left "Eug.J.de Bremaecker/1929".
