Obv: Thirteen mullets with 1863 around nude bust of Liberty, facing left, wearing headdress composed of nine eagle’s feathers bound with fillet inscribed LIBERTY, row of pearls round neck; within beaded circle near raised rim
Rev: Four flags, two either side pole surrounded by Thrygian cap, two outermost bearing stars and stripes, drum at base of pole, below which are two crossed cannons, muzzles pointing upward; the outer one, pointing left, inscribed UNION 61; the inner one, inscribed with 76; whole within oak wreath, surrounded by beaded cirlce joined to raised rim
