American, early 19th century. Infant’s cap, soft white linen embroidered with white linen thread in all over disign of minute rosettes in groups of three eyelets, round cap crown divided into squares by feather stitch, each square enclosing rosettes and eyelets, forehead band of stylized blossoms with embroidered net centers; tender and a number of small holes.
