DescriptionOvoid jar with flat base, thin neck, double everted rim with a slight roll. A face is modeled on one side: closed eyes, thin lips, and protruding chin and ears. Exterior is treated with a cream slip with traces of red paint at neck.
ProvenanceFrom Kerma, Meroitic cemetery, grave K22/1. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan.
