Circular medal of Johann Gutenberg (about 1400-1468), inventor of the type-cast machine. Stamped on edge “BRONZE”.

Obverse: Profile bust of Gutenberg looking to proper right over a diapered background, wearing a fur brimmed hat; inscribed at edge “·JEAN GVTENBERG·INVENTEVR DE L’IMPRIMERIE NE EN 1400 MORT EN 1468” and on bust “LEON DESCHAMPS”.

Reverse: Press at center among branches and open books; inscribed on press “j MCDXLI g” and above “LA LVMIERE FVT”.
