Obverse: Three-quarter turned bust of John Ray looking three-quarters to proper rigth, with long hair and a mustache.
Reverse: A willow tree at proper left and a funerary urn at proper right; inscribed on urn "AET/77" and in exergue "In.RAY.F.R.S./NAT.1627_/OBI.1704".
