Salt-glazed stoneware with cobalt and manganese decoration. The jug is bulbous in shape, with tapering neck and footring. The gray body is partially covered with a manganese wash. Cobalt blue lines decorate the neck and foot. The applied leaves and blossoms are also blue. The applied seal with a portrait of King William III (1689-1702) is inscribed “WILHELMUS.III.DG.MAG.BRIT.FRANC.ET HIB.REX”. Condition: large chip on top of handle and on rim. Wear on rim and on base. Firing cracks on seal and on some of the floral motifs.
