DescriptionCircular medal of Jules Cardinal Mazarin (1602-1661), commemorating the battle at Casale.

Obverse: Profile bust of Cardinal Mazarin looking to proper left; inscribed at edge "IVLIVS·CARDINALIS·MAZARINVS·".

Reverse: Battle scene with an army at each side and a soldier riding to proper left inbetween, walled city in background; inscribed at edge "IN·FESTAS·ACIES·NVTV·DIRIMIT" and in exerque "CASALI·1630/·D·F· (or ·D·V·)".
