DescriptionSquare kerchief designed to be worn folded with two points hanging down back; sheer white cotton embroidered with fine white linen worked in great variety of stitches with border design of meander, one purely geometric and one of highly stylized leaves and blossoms; in two pendant corners, spray of flowers; in center, arranged in circle, the embroidered inscription "done by Mary Cotton in her 80 year"; narrow linen woven fringe on all four sides; a number of brown stains.
