Copperplate engraving, printed in mauve, on tabby-woven cotton ground. Shows a group of men, women, and children gathered in a cottage, around a small table at which an elderly man reads from Genesis. Narrow border shows thistle vine. Below pictorial field, text of Burns’ poem Inscribed: “From a Drawing by David Allan in the Possesion of John Mair Esq. Plantation, Glasgow.” Stained; a few holes and patches. Selvedge at right; other edges cut.
