DescriptionThis kohl jar has a squat shouldered body. The base is flat, and the rim is flat and everted. The lid is disc shaped, and there is a chip broken off. The lid, neck and body are three separate pieces. It is made of a fine, translucent stone. There is a trace of black on the body.
ProvenanceFrom Tell el-Yahudiya. 1886–87, Naville excavations for the Egypt Exploration Fund (EEF); assigned to the EEF by the Egyptian government; December 22, 1887, voted to the MFA by the Egypt Exploration Fund.
