DescriptionThis kohl stick of ivory has a slight concavity to its middle section, a rounded butt end, and a flat tip. Some brown discoloration appears on the surface. An additional black spot may be remnant pigment.
ProvenanceFrom Kerma, Tomb X-B-118. 1914: excavated by the Harvard University-Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of Sudan; 1920: Received by the MFA.
