DescriptionThis leather shoe is largely preserved. The shoe was worn as burial clothing, as evidenced by the mummified remains of a foot and swaths of linen wrappings attached to the ankle portion.

This shoe is one of a pair that also includes object 02.832.
ProvenanceFrom the Faiyum. 1902: excavated by the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the EEF in the division of finds by the Egyptian government; 1902: voted to the MFA at EEF general meeting; 1902: sent over to the MFA.
