DescriptionThere are breaks (for supports?) on the area just above the kneecap. The surfaces are chipped here and there but are generally in very good condition. The kneecap and start of the thigh are draped in an animal's skin, the two small paws being knotted on the outer front. The marble has been worked so as to render most of the skin in black and all of the flesh in white.
ProvenancePresumably from Greece, the islands, or western Asia Minor.
