This is a lid fashioned of a reddish clay fabric. It is a slightly concave disc-shape with a pinched knob handled on top, a small fragment of which is broken off and missing.

Provenance

From Nubia (Sudan) Gebel Barkal, Building B 500 (Great Temple of Amun), Room 501 (outer court), VI 5, debris. 1920: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
