This is a slighly convex lid of redware that has blackened in some areas. It was likely shaped from a fragment broken from a pottery vessel.
From Kerma. Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
