DescriptionLorgnette fan. Painted white silk and vellum leaf with glit-silver net inserts. Silk obverse: pastoral vignette of man giving garland to woman, woman and child looking on; vignettes of dancing man left, woman with baskets right; scrolling floral panels and baskets between and at borders, brass and colored sequin details; glit man on lavendar left. Vellum reverse: simple floral border' cenetr spray. Glit paper binding. Carved and pierced ivory sticks (probably Chinese) with gilt-silver foil details: man handing woman garland, border of inset brass dots, center blades; man on guards with mica backing. Diamond paste studs in rivet.
