DescriptionCircular medal of Louis Alexandre of Bourbon (1678-1737), count of Toulouse, commemorating his victory at Málaga (1704).

Obverse: Profile bust of Louis Alexandre looking to proper left; inscribed at edge "LOUIS ALEXANDRE DE BOURBON COMTE DE TOULOUSE AMIRAL DE FRANCE" and under bust "GAYRARD F.".

Reverse: Galley ship filled with spolia; female personification of Fame standing on ship at proper left, inscribing a tablet; inscribed above "BRITANNIS BATAVIS QUE DEVICTIS", to proper left of ship "GAYRARD F.", on tablet "VEL[ ]/MALAGA", below "DE PUYMAURIN D.", and in exergue "XXIV AOUST MDCCIV.".
