Circular medal of Louis XV (1710-1774), king of France.

Obverse: Profile bust of Louis XV looking to proper left; inscribed at edge “LUDOVICO XV.OPTIMO.PRINCIPI” and “COMITIA ARMORICA” and under bust “R·FIL·”.

Reverse: Personification of Peace and War taking down shields (each bearing inscriptions) from palm tree at center; inscribed at edge “ANGLIS AB AGUILLONIO DUCE PROFLIGATIS”, at proper left “R·FIL·”, on shields “VIRTU/DUCIS/ET/MILIT.” and “VIRTUS/NOBIL./ET/[ ]ORARM.”, and in exergue “ADSANCTUM CATUODUM/M.DCC.LVIII.”.
