The object is a multi-colored blown glass bowl created as part of the Macchia Series by Dale Chihuly. The interior of the bowl is a translucent, cloudy cream color, while the exterior is spiralled with thin blue lines that are spotted with a variety of colors including; deep opaque red and translucent coral, yellow, and green among others. There are small dark green inclusions within the translucent green spots that create a rough surface. The rim of the bowl is bright yellow. A pontil mark is visible on the bottom and the signature of the artist, along with the year 1982 are engraved into the glass next to this mark.
