Man’s green felted wool trilby with dented top and pinched front, brim upturned at back with white and gold wool braid around bottom of crown ending in a knot. A metal pin in the form of a thistle is affixed to the left side, and a spray of feathers is attached to the pin. Brown leather inner brim, stamped in gold: “P. & C. / HABIG / VIENNA / EXPORT QUALITY / VENTILLO / MADE IN AUSTRIA,” “BROOKS BROTHERS / ESTABLISHED 1818” White silk lining, labeled in crown: “P. & C. / HABIG / VIENNA / HATTERS / 1862 / EXPORT QUALITY / STYLED EXCLUSIVELY FOR / BROOKS BROTHERS / ESTABLISHED 1818”
