DescriptionMan's semi-formal surcoat (bufu) of dark blue satin and lined with a light blue damask; appliquéd with court insignia badge for a sixth rank civil official embroidered with an egret, satin stitch used for waves, clouds, and leaves. Egret, sun, bats, and Buddhist emblems worked in knot stitch. Egret is the symbol of 6th rank civil official.
