Man’s wedding waistcoat. Foreparts: brown moiré ribbed silk with satin figured box motif. Double breasted. Wide shawl collar (tacked down at sides). V-front straight cut. 6 covered buttons. 3 welted pockets (watch pocket at UR). Brown piping. Brown cotton twill back, tabs with 6 brass eyelets. Cotton twill lining marked “Waistcoat worn by John Edward Bridge at our wedding March 4th 1852, Ellen E. Bridge”; red leather at base of foreparts; 2 inside brass buttons marked “Cook and Williams, 10 Princes St.”
