DescriptionThis image is much darker than M9396.
In the center a fisherman stands with a knit cap on his head and hands in the pockets of a three-quarter length coat. Under the coat he is weraring a striped jersey, wide belt, short pants, and boots. His expression is thoughtful.
In the sand, to the right of the man starfish, shells, and small rocks are visible at the shoreline.
To the left of the man are two baskets of fish and seven fish on the sand. One fish may be a flounder.
In the background, behind the baskets two men stand facing each other, holding a basket between them. Hills and the ocean can be seen behind them.
In the background, to the right of the central man, are two fishing boats that have been pulled up onto the sand. Their masts are visible. One shows the sail and a small flag.
