Oval medal of Mary Stuart (1542-1587), queen of Scotland, and Francis II, king of France (1559-60) with small triple chain attached at top. Border patterned with band of fruit, flowers, and leaves.

Obverse: Profile bust of Mary Stuart looking to proper right, elaborately dressed with high collar and snood; inscribed at edge “MARIA·REGINA FRANCIAE”.

Reverse: Profile bust of Francis II looking to proper left, wearing armor with drapery and high collar and crowned with laurel wreath; inscribed at edge “FRANCISCUS·II·D·G·FRANCOR·REX”.
