Obverse: Heraldic papal device; inscribed in at edge “SEDE VACANTE MDCCCXXXXVI*” and at proper left “NIC·C”.

Reverse: Eagle flying with rays surrounding it; inscribed in above “NON RELINQVAM VOS ORPHANOS” and below “SCUDO”.
