DescriptionOctagonal memorial ring. Painted and enameled bezel features a woman in neo-Classical dress with dog next to a plinth surmounted by a cloth. . Clock reads 11.30. Gold, small pearls and gold wirework accent the miniature which is under glass. Engraved decoration on shoulders.
InscriptionsText on plinth in German: "Ich zahle/ die Stun/den des/Wieder/sehens" (I count the hours until we meet)
ProvenancePurchased in Dresden by Gardner Brewer (b. 1806 - d. 1874), Boston; by descent to his daughter, Caroline Abigail Brewer (Mrs. Arthur) Croft (d. 1898), Boston; 1901, bequest of Mrs. Arthur Croft to the MFA. (Accession Date: July 1, 1901)
