Moon shawl (chandar) of cashmere twill tapestry with design in the main field of dark red ground with central “moon” medallion composed of floral motifs with quarter medallions of similar design in each corner; rest of field has overall repeating design of flower-filled vases in dark and bright blue, green, white, and yellow; on the sides are narrow white silk guard bands with floral motifs with a similar design on the ends, but woven with red, dark blue, green and white; along each crosswise end are bands composed of tabs of cashmere in red, green and white.
