春の部。落款部分に「正月三日毘沙門使(びしゃもんのつかい)」とあるように、愛宕神社の地主神(じしゅしん)毘沙門天を祭る強飯式(ごうはんしき・大鉢の飯を食べさせる行事)を描く。愛宕山は大地の東端にあり江戸の町を一望できた。遠景に江戸湾を望む。 -- 藤澤紫K
