DescriptionA mug in light buff fritware, thrown and turned to create a footring, and with a cut and applied handle. The decoration, over white slip and under a transparent glaze, is delineated and outlined in black, which completes the narrow upper and lower borders, using something of a “Greek key” design. The wall of the mug shows three large saz leaves in reserve, each paired with a six-petaled flower and decorated with large dots of raised red, against a scale background divided by the leaves into four panels painted alternately blue and green. The handle is rather hastily decorated with strokes of blue.
