White linen damask napkin showing the story of Orpheus. In each corner are the date 1661 and coats of arms and the inscription: Dovwe V Alyva Lvcia V Meckema 1661. In the right upper corner is the original marking with open-work letters: LVA Design is a reverse 53 from left to right. Condition: excellent. One minor repair shows on very close inspection. Satin of 5. Warp 42.5 (42-44) threads/cm., Weft 45.5 (43-47) threads/cm.
