DescriptionCircular medal of Napoléon III (1808-1873), emperor of France, commemorating the Exposition Universelle of 1867 with loop and ring attached to top.

Obverse: Profile bust of Napoléon III looking to proper right, wearing laureate wreath; inscribed at edge "NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR" and under bust "T".

Reverse: Reclining woman extending wreath with her left hand and holding mercury's staff with her right hand while leaning against an anchor; inscribed above "EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE DE PARIS" and in exergue "1867".
