DescriptionNarrow curtain from set of crewelwork bed hangings; white fustian ground with wool embroidery in flowering vine or tree pattern; New England laid stitch used for thick red, brown, and yellow stems and large leaves and flowers; stem stitch used for thinner stems; herringbone stitch used for smaller leaves, tulips, and buds; some flowers and leaves outlined in stem or chain stitches with cross or link stitches in center; blue, yellow, pink, red, and green bird with two cherries in beak made in satin stitch; part of top pieced with modern cotton; six rust spots across top
