This jar has is fashioned of a red clay fabric that has fired black in some areas. It has a bulging, virtually spherical body that constricts abruptly at the top to a narrow neck and rim with slight outward pull. The exterior has traces of a red wash. It is intact.

Provenance

From el-Kurru, Ku. 701. 1919: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
