Semi-circular relief is of a putto riding the crest of a wave. Rectangular mahogany frame surrounds terracotta.
Incised "C. H. Rimmer" in lower left-hand corner of relief, and "Neptune" with a trident symbol, at lower right.
Purchased from the estate of Caroline Rimmer or that of her niece, Edith Durham Simonds (b. after 1871-1935) by Florence D. Snelling; by descent to her adopted daughter, Kathryn E. Parks, the donor.
