17th century, Geng Zhaozhong (b. 1640 - d. 1686), Shandong, China. 18th century, Emperor Qianlong (b. 1711 - d. 1799), Qing Dynasty; to Emperor Jiaqing (b. 1760 - d. 1820), Qing Dynasty; probably given by one of the later Qing emperors to Yixin, Prince Gong (b. 1833 - d. 1898) [see note 1]. 1917, Yamanaka and Co., New York; sold by Yamanaka to the MFA for $25,000.
