Red jasper. Intaglio. Flat front, very slightly convex back with inward back bezel. Chip at bottom right half of gem. Mars, helmeted, walks to left, wears a type of undergarment that wraps around the waist and floats out on either side of the body (subligaculum). In left hand he holds a spear, the line of which passes behind his torso. In his right hand holds a trophy over left shoulder. Motif situated on a partial ground line.
