Blue jasper. Intaglio. Flat front and back surfaces. A soldier stands on a ground line with shield and spear, facing forward. He wears a short-sleeved tunic under a cuirass and pteruges but apparently no helmet. His calf muscles are well-defined. His weight is placed on his right side. He rests his right hand upon a shield and holds a tall spear in his left hand. Mounted in a modern gold ring setting.
