This is a single page from a Persian translation of Ibn Bakhtishu's Manafi' al-Hayawan (Advantages Derived from Animals), an eleventh-century Arabic treatise on animals and the medicinal uses of various parts of their bodies. The text was translated into Persian in the late thirteenth century, for the Ilkhanid ruler Ghazan Khan (reigned 1295–1304).
