Brown Russian leather upper with bucket top, quatrefoil spur leather, stylized brass spur with star shaped rowel; butted seams. Square toe. Stacked leather sole and heel. Two straps of polychrome twill tape on inside. Stamped on sole: “H CLOOTENS.” Made in late 19c. (to imitate 1630-40’s styles) by well-known maker of theatrical boots: “H. Clootens” in Paris.
