DescriptionBrown, gray and white linen threads embroidered on undyed linen ground fabric. Ground made up of threee pieces of linen seamed together. Central medallion shows Virgin and Child. Medallions in corner show four evangelists: S MARCVS as winged lion, S MATHVS as an angel, S IOHANES as a winged eagle, and S LVCAS as winged bull. Floral motifs encircel evangelist medallions. Worked in a variety of laid work and lace-like filling stitches.
