DescriptionSquare panel. Square center compartmetn and border later additions; repeating geometric blossom motif squares-polychrome silk yarns on a tan linen ground. Bordered by half of a geometric blossom motif in repeat; predominantly red with green, blue and yellow wool yarns on a linen ground. Possibly Greek. This is enclosed by a series of square and rectangualr areas of dense embroidery having square and rectangular patterns. Two tone red silk yarns sharing a common ground of tan linen. Bordering this on the same ground is a narrow kilim band flanked by solid bands of red silk yarn. Center section worn; missing yarns. Nine attached fringe tassels.
