DescriptionDense staggered rows of ogival compartment with a repeating ogival shaped simple floral design. Green floss silk satin weave warp yarns; red, purple, blue silk, plus yellow metallic, weft yarns. Lengthwise center seam. Very good condition. Edged by a band of silk with polychrome diagonal stripes. Backing: printed cotton of approximately same date with long narrow stripes having alternately a repeating naturalistic floral grouping on white and a stylized undulating flowering vine on red. Slightly stained.
